Your Chiropractors

Dr. Jana Perdijk

Dr. Jana Perdijk believes that while chiropractic care can address and relieve common symptoms like back or neck pain, its benefits are much more far reaching. When your nervous system is functioning exactly how it was designed, without interference, your body’s innate ability to heal itself is restored. This means you’ll move better, feel better and simply put, live better!

In addition to holding her chiropractic degree, Dr. Perdijk is certified in nutrition and regularly works with families to develop a better diet plan for their unique needs.
Chiropractors treat numerous patients with neuromuscular and skeletal issues, particularly, inflammatory conditions or autoimmune disorders, such as rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, osteoarthritis, scoliosis, and neuritis. A substantial amount of research exists to suggest that dietary changes reduce systemic inflammation which, in turn, alleviates pain and other clinical symptoms caused by inflammation. Eating less processed foods, more organic fruits and vegetables, using supplementation of omega 3 fatty acids, and drinking more water are examples of changes in diet that may have a positive impact on systemic inflammation. In addition, most chiropractic patients are females, and the management of some of their health issues (eg. dysmenorrhea, premenstrual syndrome, menopause) may be enhanced with nutritional counseling. Therefore, the ability of chiropractors to incorporate nutritional counseling that goes beyond eating a balanced diet would be a valuable tool toward improving their patient's health.
