Myofascial Dry Needling
Thin sterile acupuncture-type needles are inserted into a trigger point (an irritable spot within a taut band of a muscle) to bring about pain relief.
Myofascial dry needling results in increased blood flow into the irritable trigger point to remove waste byproducts within the area, as well as to relax the specific area, to bring about pain relief.
Chiropractors are trained in myofascial dry needling for an entire year as part of their M.Tech Chiropractic degree.
The decision to dry needle is very patient specific, as not all conditions require this technique.
